British artist Lórien Haynes studied under Royal Academy of Art tutor Dilip Ur from 2002 and after moving to Los Angeles in 2009 continued her work with Californian painter George Small. She has had three successful solo shows here; UNBAREABLE at The Art Studio, Santa Monica [2011], barefacedcheek, at The Quest, Venice [2012] and Did You See Her? @ Other, Hollywood [2016]. Her work features in Amy Berg’s film Every Secret Thing.

Known for her oversize charcoal nudes – Lórien combines a traditional figurative aesthetic with a sculpted, three-dimensional quality and this is built up over separate sheets, visibly taped. Tactile and visceral, her charcoals have been exhibited in London at The Haymarket, bought by The Saatchi Gallery and she now has an international client base that ranges from corporate to celebrity.

Patrons include Emma Thompson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Sela Ward, Rodrigo Garcia, Gary Lightbody, Tate Donovan, John Slattery, Jason Isaacs, Nathan Fillion, Harland Miller and Matt Damon.
